Entries for March, 2006

Wala lang, I just remembered the movie. It got me thinking, and I thought of making my own list.
So here it is. The perfect catch:
- Should have a nice smile

- Should be clean cut (short hair, clean nails… )
- Has a good sense of humor
- Is a good conversationalist
- Should speak English well
- Is a gentleman
Funny how I set standards for the perfect guy, when I know deep inside that who I’ll choose will always be an exception.
Hala, pag bored ka nga talaga oh.
Woo! Prom naaaaaa

Yeaaah. Finally it’s over. I agree with Miki when she said, “Proms are overrated”, but I definitely enjoyed the night. So now, I’ll try to give a detailed description of prom night so that when I look back, I would remember how it went.
The Dress
I didn’t exactly get my dream dress, but I like it nonetheless. Compared to the others, it looked so ordinary. Plus, turquoise seemed like the color of the night. So everywhere I turned someone had the same dress color as I did. But my dress was simple, and I still felt like a princess wearing it.
Hair and make-up
I asked to have my hair neatly put up. The stylist had trouble doing so, because I have short hair. But she was able to do it, so yay! Make-up was okay too. I don’t know anything about make-up so I just let her do her thing.
The Chauffer service
Thanks, Nins! Part of the reason prom was fun was because you were my driver. Thanks for being patient while waiting for us and being a real cool driver, despite the very high pitched beep. Haha. I was surprised to find out Kuya was his butler though. Funny how kuya's always there at the proms I attend. He even ended up going to mine! And to think he told me he was going somewhere! Kunwari pang may Sibol thing, yun pala bibili lang pala ng buko to make the trip more “festive and Filipino”.
I loved Prom radio, it made me feel really special. Thanks, Picoy! And thanks to Julian, Case, Anna, and Myron for dropping by to see me before I left for prom. That was a surprise. Although I already had a feeling Julian was there. I heard his voice from inside the house, I swear!
Oh yeah, Kuya and Niño crashed at the prom. Nagulat nalang ako when we were dancing and Chris suddenly said, “Inna, kuya mo oh” Haha. Kuya saw my expression and he thought it was hilarious.
The Date
Thanks, Dino! I’m glad I took a friend. At least it wasn’t awkward. Thanks for accompanying me that night. I had fun. I hope you enjoyed the token. And by the way, thanks also for matching my dress. We looked so cool! Haha.
The tablemates, the company and post-prom
Marj, Christine, Misa, Paola, Adrian, Ivanna, Dino, Chris, Lu, Brian and Lice
YOU WANNA TALK ABOUT MOTHAAA! Haha. I had a blast with you guys. Table 26 was the coolest table. Haha. Red box after was fun too. I enjoyed singing All I Have to Give! Yay, backstreet boys!
The Hosts
Bia and Riki, you guys were great. And bia, if you heard someone screaming, "GO BIA!" while you were hosting, that was me. Yiiiii
The Venue, the Food
Food was okay. But the bread was… inedible? Haha. I found the venue small though. The dance floor wasn’t big enough to hold around 250 girls and their dates.
The Bands
Join the Club wasn’t so bad after all. Dino was really amazed with the drummer.
We only got to watch the last part of Bloomfield’s set because we were in line for the pictures. It broke my heart we sorta missed them, but at least may naabutan parin kami. They sang La Bamba!
PROM OVERALL
BITIN! You look at the time and it’s 8 pm, and the next thing you know it’s already 2:30 am. Time really does fly when you’re having fun. But I really had blast. Prom is prom, and I will always remember it.

Yaaaay! Tapusin na natin 'to. Can't wait until summer.
- Finally, we had our last Music period a while ago. Failed the quiz on neumes though. Haha. Oh well, good riddance.
- The quiz in History was only over ten. Raaaar. After all that panic over World War 2. Crap, appeasement kasi eh.
- We had our practical periodic exam for PE during lunch. We're done, thank God. We had to wear heels again, and this time, I got a wound. It was reaaaally difficult to dance but we still got a 55/60. Cool! Thank you, Pearly for the band aid.

At last, the school year's over. We're done with third year! It really is one of the hardest years in High School. Glad we're done. I don't feel it's summer yet though. Feeling ko, we still have to go to school on Monday. Howell.
Quick Update:
1. *tagalog mode on* HINDI AKO MASYADO NAKAPAG-ARAL SA HISTORY KASI INARAL KO YUNG TRIGO. ANG TAGAL TAGAL KONG PINAG-AAALALA YANG MGA FORMULA NA YAN, ILANG ORAS DIN YUN. TAPOS YUN PALA, DI KO RIN NAGAMIT! RAWR.
MGA 70% SIGURO SA TEST, PURO HULA LANG. ABA, HINDI AKO MAGUGULAT KUNG MGA 50% O MAS MABABA ANG MAKUHA KONG MARKA DUN (wag naman sana)! *tagalog mode off*
2. I got only a total of 6 hours of sleep in three days. Maaan, that isn't healthy. I get really dizzy the next morning, making it hard for me to concentrate during the exams. Lesson learned: CRAM DOESNT PAY.
3. We got the prom pics a while ago. Argh. GUSTO KONG SUNUGIN YUNG FORMAL PIC! I look hideous! No joke. I LOOK LIKE A FISH!
That was the time Brian was taking our picture at the same time the photographer was. So the photographer got kinda annoyed. Hence, I was fighting not to laugh. But just my luck, they were able to capture the moment where I was at the verge of laughing.
Ang pangit talaga. Ang pangit.
4. I signed up for PUBLIC RELATIONS AND EVENTS MANAGEMENT for my elective next school year. I initially wanted to sign up for Niponggo or Mandarin. I've always wanted to learn a language other than English and Filipino, but I thought that being classmates with Lu and Alysa again is much much better. Yiheeee. Haha! My other classmates seem to be really fun too. A lot of 2-6 people are there. Woo! Go PR 1!
5. For the gift program, I signed up for football. FINALLY! St. Paul decides to add soccer to the sports they offer. I planned to take dramatics last year, but when I saw that they were offering football, I just couldn't let the opportunity pass.
6. Loureen, I MISS YOU LIKE CRAZY.
...ANYWAAAAY. I got to catch up on lost sleep. I'll still be going back to school to watch the Dramatics class play.

Darn it, I don't know where to start. I've got mixed emotions about everything! I feel happy, sad, confused, guilty, angry, excited, and relieved... all at the same time.
So for now, I think this will suffice:
AMPOOPIE.
I guess that about sums it up.

Dear Inna,
What’s happening to you? You never used to let your emotions get in the way. Don’t let it start now.
C’mon! Stick to the plan. It is and always should be, MIND OVER HEART. It’s the most logical thing to do.
It’s gonna be much easier this way. Seriously.
So there. Remember your mind set should be MIND OVER HEART, dear. MIND OVER HEART.
There’s lots of more time for other matters. Just get it together.
Love,
Inna

We got our report cards today. My average went down. I think. Yes, it IS disappointing, because I know I could’ve done better. Laziness just got the best of me. I admit that this was the laziest year ever. Not to mention the most distracting. Pffft!
But like Ella said, I may not be THAT smart, but at least I know I’m a bright girl and I’m capable of doing great things if I just put my mind into it.
Next year then. C’mon Inna! You need to focus!
My Trigonometry grade went down by 5 points. That broke my heart. It went up by five points last quarter, and then it’s minus five again. Damn periodical test! I really try my best to appreciate math, but math really seems to hate me. Oh please, Mother. Allow me to take communications in college?
Recognition day was fun! It’s not every year I get to be a part of that, so I’m glad I was this year. It’s a cool feeling receiving awards, but it’s a whole different story once Mandee gets hers. We counted the certificates she was able to accept a while ago, and there were 25. Oh, I just dream of the day that happens to me. Hahaha
Tomorrow’s the first day of Expert Guides! Weeee! Exciting! I hear I’ve got a lot of Paulinian classmates, so YAY! This marks the start of waking up early until the end of April, hanging out at Katipunan everyday and possibly jogging with Mik at Ateneo after. HAHA!
Lu, Alysa and I had yesterday allotted for our “girl bonding”. We planned to watch V for Vendetta, but it isn’t showing at Galleria anymore. Argh! After all that excitement! We settled for Just Friends instead. It was so-so. It was the usual teen flick.
We saw loads of “signs” though! They’re not just your average-everyday-coincidence-kind of signs, but they were the oh-my-gosh-this-really-reminded-us-of-you kind of signs. That was just mind-blowing.
I guess there are things that just can’t be explained. Right, Lu and Alysa?
